To become the world-class education and training provider of choice for
Virginia businesses and residents, the VCCS will build strategic partnerships
with Virginia businesses and industry clusters to insure a pipeline of
qualified workers to replace retiring workers and meet the needs of new and
expanding companies. The following will be necessary:
Of the new and expanding businesses in Virginia receiving state support for education and training services, more than 33% will select the VCCS as their training partner in start-up or expansion activities, compared to 22% currently choosing the community colleges.
A Workforce Readiness Certificate will be developed and implemented in collaboration with the Virginia Workforce Council. Annually 20,000 individuals will complete requirements of this certificate.
The annual number of graduates from Career Studies Certificate programs will increase by 50%.
The number of individuals annually who choose non-credit training provided by the VCCS will increase by 50%.
The number of employers served through VCCS workforce training activities will increase by one-third.
