Animating a Graphic using Flash
2 types
- Animation:
- Frame by frame (each frame will be different)
- Tweening
- Tween:
- Motion (graphic must be converted to symbol first)
- Shape (can NOT be a symbol)
FLASH
Take graphic (by either drawing it or importing it to the library)
Get pointer 
Double-click to get fill AND stroke selected
To apply motion tweening, you must convert the graphic to a symbol
To Convert to symbol,
Right click
Select “Convert to symbol”
Name it
graphic
Drag 3 of the images from the library
Select the images
Go to properties and change whatever you wish to change
Prop
Frame rate (default 12+) (The more frames per second, the smoother the movement)
Create a Keyframe at 1
Create a Keyframe at 24 (using 12 fps (frames per second))
Select frame 24 (keyframe)
Move symbol where you wish it’s destination to be
Right-click between keyframes
Select {create motion tween}
To preview, hit enter
Add “motion path”
Name the first layer
Right click on the layer above
Choose “add motion guide”
Note: guide layer only sets up the path you are creating
Start in guide layer
Outer of
Pencil smooth option (use center of graphic)
Click on keyframe 1 of the guide
Snap graphic to begin and end of path
Once path and ball are merged,
Hide guide layer (close the eye icon)
When you see “scene 1” at the top,
Select ball layer
Go to property panel
“Rotate” CW (clockwise) # of “Times”
Save as .swf tile
Go to File, Publish Settings,
Choose Settings
Went to dreamweaver
Inserted table
Inserted text into row 1
Insert flash, find file
Save
The .swf file is the file you actually use as the end result.
