Where is the library?! I went there and it has moved!
Beginning in spring semester 2008, the CVCC Library as well as the entire Bedford
Hall will undergo renovation. The Library is temporarily located in Room 2506 in
Amherst Hall. Library staff offices are located next door in Room 2504.
How will the library renovation affect library services?
During renovation, Library staff will continue to provide many of its services,
including: checking books in and out; assisting with information requests; public
computers; reserves; magazines and newspapers; a limited number of popular books,
DVDs, and new books on display; and processing student IDs. For more information,
Where are all the books? I don’t see them at the temporary location.
During renovation, most books and other library material are in storage. The
Library has implemented a book retrieval service, LIBRARY EXPRESS. Items
requested will be retrieved by Library staff and delivered to the Public Service
Desk for pickup. For more information about LIBRARY EXPRESS, click here.
How do I get my Student ID/Library Card?
When school is in session, registered students may come to the Library to have their
card made. It serves as both student ID and library card, and a picture of the student
is taken. The first card is free; the replacement charge for lost cards is $3.00.
How do I find out if the Library has a particular book?
You may search the Online Library Catalog to see if it is in the Library’s holdings.

and select the QuickStart Guide for Using the Online Library Catalog.
How long may I keep a book that I’ve checked out?
Books checked out by students circulate for a period of four weeks.
What is the overdue fine for returning materials late? What is the charge for lost materials?
The Library does not charge fines for materials returned late. However, a hold is
put on the records of students with overdue materials. For lost library materials,
the charge is $50 per item. Students must have a clear library record before being
able to register for classes.
Can I access library resources from home?
Yes. Go to the CVCC Library Information Reference Page ( click here).
This page lists a variety of excellent electronic library resources available
to students and faculty. When accessing an electronic database from off-campus,
you will be directed to the “MY VCCS” page. Simply enter your “MY VCCS” login
and password.

you may use.
I have a file on a floppy disk/jump drive. Can I use it on Library computers?

floppy or jump, you can use it on library computers, if it is saved in an
application that is loaded on the Library computers (i.e Microsoft Word,
