Renovation Information
The CVCC Library as well as the entire Bedford Hall will undergo a $4.1 million
renovation beginning spring 2008. Among the new features planned for the
renovated CVCC Library are an expanded number of public computers, group study
rooms, a library instruction room, new carpet and furnishings, a new elevator,
and a coffee shop.
Temporary Location
The Library is temporarily located in Room 2506 in Amherst Hall. Library staff
offices are located next door in Room 2504.
Library Services during the Renovation
During renovation, Library staff will continue to provide library services to
CVCC students, faculty, staff, and the community. In the Library, these
services will include:
- Public Service Desk: Staff is available to assist researchers with information requests, check out library materials, and process student IDs.
- Public Computers: Equipped with Internet connection and Microsoft Office software.
- Reserves: Material placed on reserve by faculty will be available for student use.
- Magazines and Newspapers: Current and back issues are available to view.
- Popular Books, DVDs, and New Books: A limited number of current popular/leisure books, DVDs, and books recently added to the collection are on display and available for checkout.
- Book Retrieval Service: LIBRARY EXPRESS Let us retrieve your books for you!
The most significant change in services is the addition of our book retrieval service, LIBRARY EXPRESS. During renovation, most books and other library material are in storage. Items requested by students, faculty, and staff will be delivered to the Public Service Desk for pickup. For more information, click here.
